Pendleton… you know it for the Pendleton Arts Center and Final Fridays. It’s located east of OTR, north of the Central Business District, and south of Mount Auburn. / Image: Brian Planalp // Published: 9.2.17

Glendale… you know it for being a National Historic Landmark. The neighborhood, established in 1855, was designed by R.C. Phillips. Instead of going with a typical grid pattern for the layout of the ‘hood, Glendale’s layout follows the topography the land. In its original founding, the village was a desired area for summer homes by the local business community. / Image: Daniel Smyth // Published: 9.2.17

Covington… you know it for being across the river from Downtown Cincinnati, for its #lovethecov hashtag, and for its bourbon. One picture-perfect part of Covington is the Licking Riverside Historic District, which is the location from where this photo was taken. / Image: Leah Zipperstein, Cincinnati Refined // Published: 9.2.17
Columbia-Tusculum… you know it for being Cincinnati’s oldest neighborhood. You did know that, right? It’s also got some pretty adorable homes. San Francisco has Painted Ladies, well so do we. / Image: Clay Griffith // Published: 9.2.17

East Walnut Hills… you know it for a mix of things, from DeSales Corner on Woodburn Ave to opulent mansions on Madison to its proximity to Eden Park. And how about those river views? Not bad, right? Not bad at all. The neighborhood was founded in 1867. / Image: Leah Zipperstein, Cincinnati Refined // Published: 9.2.17
West End… you know it for… well, you probably don’t know it that well actually. While it’s home to the oldest residence in Ohio, the Betts-Longworth house — and Dayton Street (pictured), which was once known as “Millionaire’s Row,” it’s not exactly a primetime neighborhood. Pockets of it are lovely, which is why it made our list, but the West End has had its fair share of hard times. Here’s to hoping all the revitalization in OTR and the rest of the urban core spreads west. / Image: Phil Armstrong, Cincinnati Refined // Published: 9.2.17

Hyde Park… you know it for the Square, for its summer farmers’ market, for the Blast event in June and plenty more. Located on the east side of Cincinnati, this relatively wealthy neighborhood was established in 1892 by prominent business folk. / Image: Daniel Smyth // Published: 9.2.17
