The nearly 20 square miles of wooded slopes and clear streams, now known as Indian Hill, were first eyed by the Shawnee, Miami, and Delaware Indian tribes. Today, many of the main thoroughfares of the Village follow the early Indian trails.
In the late 1800s Indian Hill was known primarily as a farming community due to its proximity to Cincinnati and natural beauty. Residents living in more urban areas began visiting Indian Hill on the weekends via the Swing Line that ran between Cincinnati and Ramona Station, which is now the administration building.
Today, Indian Hill is still known for its proximity, natural beauty and farming with working farms like Turner Farms, which is actually a pretty cool non-profit dedicated to education and sustainable agriculture.
Several event venues in Indian Hill offer a beautiful backdrop to any event or special occasion. The Indian Hill public schools are one of the top rated in the state, with a huge expansion of the High School campus nearing completion soon, as well as several private school options in the area as well.
Indian Hill is just minutes from several neighboring communities like Madeira, Kenwood, and Montgomery and just about 15 minutes from downtown.
The Village of Indian Hill has several parks and recreational areas available for residents to enjoy. From tennis courts, baseball and softball diamonds, soccer and lacrosse fields and basketball court. Walk paths, nature trails, bridle trails, playgrounds, and picnic areas for lots of outdoor fun and relaxation for Indian Hill residents.
So if you’re looking for a sprawling estate, historic home, or a new build, surrounded by natural beauty in the heart of Cincinnati’s haven for upscale living, check out The Village of Indian Hill.
