Have you ever been interested in alternative ways to heal your body naturally, but not quite sure what route to take? If so, Native Moon Herbal Apothecary may just be the place to visit.
As a child, owner Gayle Redfeather did not have many friends because she enjoyed playing alone and exploring nature. While outdoors, she developed a love for plants, trees, and all animals that crossed her path. This came naturally to her since her mother and grandmother both shared a similar appreciation for nature. Gayle recalls childhood memories of her grandmother picking medical plants for healing from their garden, creating soaps, creams, and bitters.
With 11 years of experience in the medical field, Gayle felt something was missing in her life but wasn’t quite sure what it was. When her daughter graduated from college, Gayle started soul searching and realized it was time to change her path and follow her passion for self-healing.
Studying herbalism opened her knowledge to a plethora of healing practices such as aromatherapy, meditation, reiki healing, massage therapy, crystal healing, astrology, psychology, and metaphysics. She opened Native Moon in 2017, following in the footsteps of her mother and grandmother.
In the future, Gayle plans to open a kitchen next door to her shop so she can not only make more of her homemade products but establish a second spot that brings members of her community together. She says her favorite African word is “ubuntu,” which means, “I am because you are.” It refers to the concept of common humanity and oneness and how we are all in this together helping one another heal each other.
Native Moon currently offers homemade soaps, creams, bitters, herbs, Alkaline water, teas, tinctures, salves, oils, crystals, sage, incense, and much more.
