Inspiring Action, Building Community for Local Business Owners

The world of business has always fascinated Jennifer Sheffel. "My grandfather was an entrepreneur and I always wanted to own my own business," she recalls.

Sheffel earned a bachelor degree in accounting from Northern Kentucky University (NKU), graduated summa cum laude from Thomas More University with a master’s degree in business administration, and has since held multiple leadership positions at Fortune 500 and global companies.

But she still had those aspirations of being an entrepreneur. In Spring 2022, she made that dream come true when she launched her business, Summit ActionCOACH. Today, it's an award-winning business and executive coaching and leadership training firm.

Sheffel is also an adjunct professor at NKU this semester teaching Managerial Accounting, and is actively involved in the community as she serves on numerous boards. In addition, she's an active with NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners) Kentucky, Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce with Women's Innitiative, and WE Lead through the Cincinnati Chamber.

"I love our community and growing one another. Given my business and accounting background, this made complete sense to be an executive and business coach for many instead of just one," she says. "I strongly believe in connecting the world, leading a change in our community as we all work together to enhance our region’s vibrancy for a more diverse tomorrow."

With Summit ActionCOACH, Sheffel offers one-on-one and group coaching, workshops, leadership training sessions and executive coaching. "Given my background is in accounting -- skilled in everything from audit, tax, controllership, treasury, operational finance, forecasting, planning and analysis -- I'm well versed in business and the functionality of financials to ensure a return on your investment," she explains. When she's not coaching, speaking or teaching, she's spending time with her two children and husband. "I love boating, learning something new, and hanging with family and friends," she says. "Some of my clients are close friends now, too."
