Back-to-School Time at the YMCA

It's back to school time already! If you're wondering how to encourage your kids to stay active and social and continue to learn before and after school, the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati might have just what you need.

"We serve children all across the city in our after school programs, and they're all focused on the social-emotional learning," says Carrie King, Regional Director of Out of School Time for the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati. "We not only have curriculum focused on education, leadership, and character development, but we also have things like STEAM, YOGA, homework help, tutoring, art, music, physical activity and lots of fun!"

The YMCA's After School Care is for ages 5 to 12 and their programs are licensed by the states of Ohio and Kentucky. Programs take place before and after school at YMCA branches and at local schools. Registration packets for each site can be found through the branch listed with the school. Click here to see a list of local branches that offer programs.

If you enjoy working with kids, the YMCA may also be what you're looking for. "Whether you're looking for part-time or full-time, we have lots of exciting opportunities for those who love working with children," says Katie Myers, Chief People Officer for the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati. "And right now, we have a pretty great incentive that we hope will attract top talent. A sign on bonus up to $1,500 for full-time and part-time!"

Myers says they are looking for individuals 18 and up, with a particularly great need for staffing at their Forest Hills and CPA locations. "We have a wide range of ages of kids you get to work with," she adds, "every day is different, fast-paced and fun!"
