There's A Lot To Love About The Green Farm Juicery

Passion is a pretty incredible thing. Because when it’s put into action, passion is what fuels one’s fire. Passion can feed one’s soul. Passion is the extra energy boost we need when that continuous lack of sleep settles in. Passion is how we go from an idea to a reality. And so it goes that passion is the engine behind Green Farm Juicery.

Amanda Bottleson and Mara Boord (two Sycamore parents and friends of eight years) are the owners of this new juice bar concept in Blue Ash. It opened Thanksgiving week of 2017. The seed of the idea began germinating a couple of years prior.

Both Amanda and Mara have experienced the crushing loss of far too many loved ones. From mothers to sisters to friends, the passing of such close family members (and others) has, understandably, been tough to process. But what makes Amanda and Mara special is how they’ve navigated that pain, ultimately transforming its essence into a force for good.

They were sparked by a desire to maximize their own health and that of their families. So they started researching the benefits of juicing. “One day, on a walk, I mentioned to Mara that we should open up a juice bar,” explained Amanda. “Sometimes, when you put an idea out into the universe, doors begin to open.” That’s exactly what happened in the formation of Green Farm Juicery.

When the space next to Sleepy Bee became available, they knew they had their spot. Not only was the square footage just right, but it’s a prime location for a juice bar. Downtown Blue Ash has transformed into a mini corridor for fitness of late, with Dance Fix next door, Fleet Feet across the street, and Body Alive, Barre3, and PureBarre within a quick drive.

Now this story would be nice if it ended here. Two adorable yoga moms opened a juice bar, yay! But that’s not the end of the story. Really, it’s just the beginning. Because whether you know their backstory or not, the real reason to head to Green Farm Juicery is the product itself.

Juicing isn’t a new thing. But the benefits it provides, compounded by the endorphins released upon actively pursuing a healthy lifestyle, are unmatched. Also, juice tastes good. (Really good.) At Green Farm Juicery, you have plenty of options, like wellness shots (the “flu shot” was a best-seller this winter), cold-pressed juices that are made from 100% organic produce, smoothies, and smoothie bowls. And there are even plenty of non-juice options: house-made energy balls (made with gluten-free oats, flax seed, chia seed, peanut butter & honey), chia bites, cheesy kale chips, etc.

During my first visit to the bar, I selected the make-your-own smoothie option. I don’t recall the exact ingredients, but suffice it to say, it was enough to get me back in the door. On my most recent trip, I had the Green Farm smoothie bowl. It was so filling and delicious that I enjoyed it over the course of two days. I’m not sure what my third stop will turn up, but rest assured there’s more Green Farm Juicery in my future. And if you're smart, there should probably be some in yours too.
