Sip Spotlight: Old Vermont

The holidays are here and we're mixing up some festive cocktails featuring the flavors of the season. Here's one for Thanksgiving that exudes all the fall vibes. It's a spin on the Old Vermont cocktail, which combines gin and maple syrup with citrus flavors.

In place of the usual OJ, this recipe uses an Orange Blossom Pomegranate Mixicles cube that adds notes of apple, passion fruit, and pomegranate too. Shake the cube with all the liquid ingredients until it's fully dissolved and you'll have a well-chilled cocktail without needing to use regular ice (though you can always add a few cubes to the shaker if you like your drinks a bit more diluted).

You can find Orange Blossom Pomegranate Mixicles and all the lovely seasonal items pictured here at The Cottage Paperie & Gifts. It's the perfect spot to find a unique collection of gifts for everyone on your list!

  • 2 oz. gin
  • 1/2 oz. maple syrup
  • 1/2 oz. lemon juice
  • 1 Orange Blossom Pomegranate Mixicles cube
  • 2 dashes bitters, such as Angostura

How to Mix: Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake until the Mixicles cube dissolves. Pour into a glass and garnish with orange slices.
