Of the nine Mixicles flavors that we offer year round, the first one we developed was Cucumber Lime Sage. Its inspiration was a drink that I once had at a bar in OTR and absolutely adored: a gin & tonic accented with cucumber and sage. Jason, our CFO (Chief Flavor Officer), set about crafting a frozen cube that would capture those flavors and taste garden fresh.
For the first batch, Jason literally harvested cucumbers and sage from his garden to combine with freshly squeezed lime juice and a touch of handmade, organic simple syrup for balance.
This yard-to-glass Mixicles flavor is available in a single-flavor pack of 12 cubes as well as in our Essential Collection, which also contains Blueberry Lemon Basil and Jalapeño Citrus. It sips perfectly with gin and tonic water, and is equally delicious when paired with vodka, rum, or tequila.
- 2 Cucumber Lime Sage Mixicles cubes
- 2 ounces gin
- Tonic water to top
- Garnish: sage, cucumber slices, or lime wedge
Place the Mixicles cubes in a rocks glass and top with the gin. Swirl to get the flavor infusion going and to chill the gin. Add ice if desired. Top with tonic, and garnish with sage, cucumber slices, or a lime wedge. Bottoms up!
