September in Zinzinnati: Oktoberfests, Fall Beers and Anniversaries!

September might be the Queen City’s beer drinker’s Super Bowl. Get ready to jam your calendar full of great Cincinnati beer events! Click here for the list on Cincy By The Pint I'll continue to update!

How many people, by a show of hands, are getting sick of us saying Fall/Oktoberfest season is the best time of the year? Perfect. Put your hands down. We don’t care.

September is a special month indeed for Cincinnati as we celebrate not only our storied German brewing heritage, but a whirlwind of special events, brewery anniversaries, special releases and above all? Oktoberfests. If your calendars look like ours, it’s a mix of anxiety and excitement as Cincinnati steals our social life once again by planting its flag all over our weekend calendars. ALL. MONTH. LONG. Honestly? We don’t hate it.

Wake me up when September ends? Nah, we’ll already be asleep halfway through from all the Marzens and special stout releases- yet somehow that’s just the beginning.

We Present: Cincinnati Craft in September - Your guide to never missing a drop of the action.

The Gemütlichkeit Games (G-Games) - Main Stage at Second and Elm Streets

Gemütlichkeit means goodwill, cordiality or friendliness. The idea of gemütlichkeit began after the Napoleonic war in 1815 and before the Revolutionary wars started in 1848. People in Germany were tired of war and politics (sound familiar?) and decided, instead, to spend their spare time focused on family and friends.

While Oktoberfest Zinzinnati’s Gemütlichkeit Games (or G-Games) are a competition between members of Zinzinnati media, the contests remain cordial and friendly.. Mostly ??

Events will include the beer barrel roll and the beer stein carry in which participants carry six one liter steins, filled with Samuel Adams Oktoberfest, to the finish line. Scores are based on time and the least amount of beer spillage.
