Muse In Mt. Lookout Is As Much A Feast For The Eyes As It Is For The Stomach

There's certainly no shortage of good grub around the Queen City, but I'll always welcome a new kid on the block, especially if they're offering up something different from the usual fare.

Enter Muse in Mt. Lookout.

This place is all about healthful, farm-fresh, seasonal ingredients curated together in an innovative (and always changing) menu. In other words, they're cooking up food that makes you feel as good as it tastes. Let's dig in.

THE BACKSTORY

Muse was created by owner Anne Ilyinsky, a cancer survivor who believes better food choices lead to better health. She immersed herself in the world of food as medicine; she became a board member of Turner Farm, sat on the advisory board for UC's Integrated Health Center, and even invested in Rooted Juicery. Her vision for the restaurant was simple: clean, healthy, locally-sourced food that tastes great and is presented beautifully.

Those are some #foodgoals if you ask me.

THE FOOD

Muse isn't messing around when it comes to its menu. In place of a bread basket, you're served a vegetable fence — a line up of locally-sourced vegetables served in a quirky, upright position.

And the fun certainly doesn't stop there. Some of the eye-catching and tastebud-dazzling favorites from the menu include:

  • If you're brunching: the Frittata with goat cheese, thyme, roasted fingerling potatoes, and caramelized onions, or the gluten-free triple berry pancakes
  • If you're lunching: avocado toast, quinoa chili, BBQ Jack Fruit tacos, or a duck confit sandwich
  • If you're dinnering: the beet and goat cheese terrine, the pine-smoked bone marrow, butternut squash gnocchi, or the farro and quinoa salad with flower kale and shaved fennel

More of a visual learner? Head to the gallery above to feast your eyes on what Muse is serving up. And go check 'em out in-person for the Sunday/Monday Brunch or on Wednesdays for Oyster Night.
