Picture this: Joanna Gaines comes to town and fills four barns with all her fab finds, from antiques, vintage picks and farmhouse decor to boho fashion, accessories and lots of yummy treats. That's basically what Vintage Market Days Dayton-Cincinnati is (you know, minus JoJo), and it's all taking place April 21 to April 23 at the Greene County Fairgrounds & Expo Center in Xenia. Plus, it's all for a great cause, as a portion of all event proceeds benefits Heart of Centerville and Greenview High School Athletics.
This "Here Comes the Sun" themed event will be the biggest Vintage Market Days event yet, as it fills four barns with a curated selection of vintage home goods, art, children's items, signs, garden products, handmade jewelry, and clothing and accessories. Plus a food truck rally, live music and several experience stations like a hat customization bar, permanent jewelry pop-up, build-a-bouquet flower station, and lots of tastings and samplings.
We chatted with a few local influencers and savvy VMD shoppers for their favorite shops to find, and best tips for taking on this one-of-a-kind event. Here's what they had to say:
StephStyle101: Each time I head to Vintage Market Days, I am always excited to see what The ABC Market and Starlight Antiques have for sale! They stock THE BEST ideas for gifts, so unique and perfectly curated for those on your gifting list. Still, I love all the outstanding booths that VMD brings init is the most amazing shopping experience and something I look forward to every time they are here! One of my favorite purchases to date is a vintage caddy with drinking glasses, such a beautiful item for display but a show stopper when setting the table for a special occasion. So grab some of your friends, and make amazing memories shopping, at Vintage Market Days!
Food Hussy: I am so excited for the Vintage Market Days! It's one of my favorite Cincinnati area events! My favorite booth last year was the Truck Shop Boutique - they have so many cute clothes! I always make sure to stop by the booth from Tennessee with all the Pimento Cheese - it is literally the best ever! I load up on that and their oatmeal cookies. Every year I come away with cute new clothes, fun snacks and a couple pieces of jewelry. Plus - it's a great stop for gift ideas for friends!
FabMeetsBrooklyn: I can’t wait till spring rolls around each year and I have the opportunity to check out the newest trends in home decor and fashion at Vintage Market Days! The vendor I always look the most forward to is Buckeye Charm, her apparel and accessories are so unique. I never leave the market empty-handed or with an empty stomach especially when I stop by Nothing Bundt Cakes for their Red Velvet Bundt cake. I also love the convenience of package drop off so I don’t have to make multiple trips to my vehicle, Once I’m all done shopping for the day, I can pick it up on the way out. Vintage Market Days never disappoints and I’m excited to see what finds I bring home this year!
GemCityGal937: I’m looking forward to this years Vintage Market Days because it’s where I find my favorite one of a kind home decor pieces! My go-to vendors include Nature’s Lot, Starlight Antiques, and Red Door Vintage and Decor. Along with home decor, I love jewelry from The Babe Standard and fashion from That’s Invintage!
Earth.to.Eliot: This will be my seventh Vintage Market Days and they just keep getting better! It is an event I look forward to every spring and fall! Each year they add more shopping options to an already great line-up of vendors. My must visit shops are Two Love Birds Vintage and Bushel and Peck. I also love all of the curated photo set-ups and themed decor!
Edith Porter: Going to markets have been something I’ve enjoyed doing for years attending them with my mom and now attending them with my own daughters. I have loved attending VMD of Cincinnati, finding new vendors every time I attend, and visiting my favorites. The barns are full of finds and each year it gets even better. I have made new friends and have fun shopping and catching up with my favorite vendors. I always have to pick up some warm cinnamon almonds as I stroll through the amazing vendors. You won’t want to miss the food trucks definitely don’t miss the amazing pretzels from TroGo. I also have to pick up some of the handmade goat soap from Off Grid Soap Company and always enjoy Starlight Antiques! They are an amazing boutique for special clothing finds.
Brandi Baird: VMD is my favorite local event to attend, I haven’t missed one since moving to Ohio! My friends and I love to go early on Friday morning, there’s a buzz and excitement as the fellow shoppers start filling the buildings to shop! I’m a new mom and with spring finally here, I’m excited to meet new vendors, chat with some of the regulars like That’s Invintage and Allison at The ABC Market, and find pieces for a little home decor refresh for this year!
Miami County Live: We love VMD for the wide variety of vendors and eclectic finds. One of our favorite things to buy is home decor and Alena scored a really cool Octopus photo. Our favorite is Buckeye Charm because we love their t-shirts and we can't wait to see their selection for the upcoming VMD.
Alicia Bordewyk: My sister and I never miss VMD! It’s perfectly timed at the start of Spring, right when I’m refreshing my home decor and starting to look for wedding and graduation gifts. I’m super excited to shop Birdie & Brooks this year for some new earrings and I’ve found some of the most unique gifts at Bushel & A Peck (not to mention my Motherhood University t-shirt I’ve basically lived in since last year’s VMD). I always make sure I find OBC’s Innovative Designs, Fleurish Home, 922 Decor Co., and Starlight Antiques for new seasonal decor and a few special gifts. Some of my favorite greenery stems and vases have come from VMD Spring vendors too. I cannot wait to shop it up (and grab a Heather’s Gourmet Apple for the road).
Laura Sioux Cianciolo: Vintage Market days is something I look forward to every year I always find the most unique items and I love being surrounded by other vintage lovers like my self it’s more than just shopping it’s the whole atmosphere. I’ve bought a ton of gifts from bushel and a peck and rusty bison and so many others. I’m a big hat lover and one of my favorite purchases was a vintage wood hat mold. It’s one of my favorite places to buy seasonal decor. I also have started a collection of cutting boards from VMD. Each one is so beautiful and unique. I’m a professional photographer and I finds the cute props! I’m excited for 2023 spring Vintage Market Days!
VinceCincy: Our favorite thing about Vintage Market Days is that it is a dog-friendly event and we enjoyed walking through each building checking out so many creative vendors and vintage treasures. We enjoyed talking to Paige at Chop Local and looking at their woodworking pieces, especially the plant propagation stations.
