Caza Sikes Is The New Approachable And Affordable Art Gallery In Oakley

Queen City art lovers, there is a new gallery in town, and you should make sure you find yourself there soon. Caza Sikes opens in Oakley Square this month.

First thing you should know—this is no stuffy gallery. You’ve likely seen a shop, walked in, stopped at an interesting painting or sculpture, and thought, “Wait, there’s how many zeros on that price tag?” You begin to wonder if you can even afford to breathe the air in there. That is not what you'll experience at Caza Sikes.

The gallery’s founders, Evan Sikes and Reid Sikes, wanted to make fine art both approachable and affordable. Sikes says a goal of the shop is to help people bring unique arts and crafts into their homes.

When you walk in, you are greeted by a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The space, formerly a paint store, was completely remodeled. It’s designed to show the art in its best light, and includes many nods to our city’s storied arts & crafts history, including a handmade checkout counter covered in Rookwood tiles.

Caza Sikes (Caza means “hunting” in Spanish) is full of stunning pieces, from the gorgeous nature photos of Rodger Skinner to the surrealist ceramics of Jan Wiesner (and so much more). And all of it is something that you can actually own!

Caza Sikes also carries fiber arts, unique glass jewelry, prints, and turned wood pieces. It's the perfect place to shop when you have no idea what to give the person who not only has everything, but has already Instagrammed it, too.

Caza Sikes isn’t just a shop. They also provide corporate art consulting and appraisals of fine and decorative art. And they plan to have regular exhibitions, the first one being, Riffing Van Gogh.

Riffing Van Gogh will serve as Caza Sikes’ grand opening on Friday, September 15 from 5 to 9 PM where you’ll be able to see works by more than 25 artists from all over the country who share their take on the works of Van Gogh. For the opening, Caza Sikes has partnered with ArtWorks to donate a portion of their proceeds back to the nonprofit. The exhibit will run through September 30.

And that’s just the start. Later this fall, Caza Sikes will hold the first-ever retrospective of works by renowned Cincinnati painter Cole Carothers.

Whatever you’re looking for, you’re sure to find it at Caza Sikes!
