15 Facts We Learned About Hippos During the Zoo's Daily Broadcasts

The Cincinnati Zoo is currently closed, but its staff members are working hard to bring the Zoo's animals online in a unique way. As of this week, they're producing daily Home Safari sessions for fans young and old who want to stay in touch with their favorite animals. You can catch them live on Facebook every day at 3 PM. If you're not a Facebook person, you can catch the videos on the Cincinnati Zoo's website after they air.

The first Home Safari session aired on March 16th and showcased world-famous Fiona the Hippo herself. The 22-minute long video features a knowledgeable zookeeper who relays facts about hippos, feeds Fiona and Bibi on camera, and answers questions from viewers as they talk. Viewers are invited to take a little quiz that you can access on the site afterward about what they cover in the video. (The quiz has great animated GIFs whenever you submit your answer, too.)

It's wholesome, you learn quite a bit about the animals they cover, and it's a great way to enjoy the Zoo without leaving home. In fact, I learned 15 things about hippos when I watched the video myself! To illustrate those facts, tap or click the link below, or tap on the gallery of images above.
