When it comes to gift giving, it's the thought that counts. Krystal Szabo wanted to go above and beyond when it came to giving gifts to friends and family one Christmas that she ended up launching her business Green Bubble Gorgeous.
The former chef-turned-entrepreneur started out making soap and bath bombs and selling them at farmers markets for fun.
"I have a creative brain and always have to be doing something creative," she says. "I decided to take a year off from cookie and candy making and instead, made homemade body care goodies and wrapped them up pretty."
Since then, Szabo says her business has grown from her home kitchen to a retail store and commercial kitchen, and they’ve most recently moved into a new warehouse and production facility.
When coming up with a name for her business, Szabo says that it came to her in a dream. "I kind of laughed about it, it was a long name, and three days later that was the name that was still stuck in my head so I ran with it," she says. "11 years later and we will run into customers we met at a show years ago and they will say, we know you, we couldn’t forget your name."
Green Bubble Gorgeous offers products that are meant to create happiness. The colorful products encourage self care and self healing, because Szabo believes self care is of the utmost importance.
"Educating about what ingredients are in skincare and makeup products is why we do what we do," she says. "We are 95% natural."
When you shop Green Bubble Gorgeous, you’ll find that products are handmade in small batches and 95% natural. "Our products are paraben and phthalate free," adds Szabo. "We also use a lot of fair trade ingredients."
Current best-sellers at Green Bubble Gorgeous includes olive oil soap, loofah soaps, bath bombs, deodorant, and lotion. Szabo says that if she had to pick a personal favorite, she would choose the Crystal Ritual Bath Bombs, "because they are the most zen, relaxing bath ever," she says.
And while the last year has thrown some obstacles in the way, Szabo says that since in-person events haven’t happened she’s adapted to focusing her business efforts online and by starting a subscription box.
However, Szabo says she’s looking forward to the upcoming Vintage Market Days of Dayton-Cincinnati April 16-18. She’s been involved in around 20 Vintage Market Days events, and is looking forward to the good, positive vibes the event offers.
"The customers are fabulous and just the experience with all the decor, vignettes, and photo walls is great," she says.
Vintage Market Days Dayton-Cincinnati is Szabo’s favorite event. "We are excited to show off our spring and summer scents," she adds.
