Maybe it's all the natural light and friendly smiles that greet your first steps in. Or maybe it's the monochromatic bamboo housewares and creamy white soaps and powders in pretty glass jars. There's just something about this place makes you feel a little happier and healthier.
Kentucky Botanical Co. is a shop that's all about natural living with products that are not only good for you but good for the environment, too.
"We're focused on sustainability and Kentucky-grown products," explains Owner Christain Watt. "We have our own line of Certified Organic, Kentucky-grown CBD products as well as a full refillery and lots of eco-friendly swaps."
Watt says she considers the store to be a natural living market. "All of the products in our store are easy switch outs with the products you're currently using, they're just toxin-free and better for the environment," she says.
You can shop a variety of products at Kentucky Botanical Co., ranging from bath and body products, laundry powders and products, and housewares like Swedish cloths that can replace up to 17 paper towel rolls.
“An important thing for us here at Kentucky Botanical Co. is to make sustainability accessible for everyone, and not a daunting task,” she says. “Anyone can come in and start making these tiny changes.”
When it comes to the beauty products at Kentucky Botanical Co., Watt says her favorite is the elasticity serum. “It’s my favorite swap I’ve ever made,” she says. “I also love our reusable makeup wipes, even my daughter uses them. They come with a little bag so all you have to do is toss them in the washer and you’re good to go.”
Kentucky Botanical Co. also carries everyday life necessities such as reusable tote bags for groceries and even for carrying items to the pool this summer.
“We also have reusable water bottles,” she adds. “This is one of the biggest switches you can make, as well as our reusable cutlery.”
Kentucky Botanical Co. has three locations - Bellevue, Florence, and Covington. If you’re interested in making the switch to sustainable at any of these locations, all you have to do is bring in a jar or container, and start one product at a time. “You’ll feel so much better feeling sustainable and toxin-free,” says Watt. “It’s an investment, but it really saves you in the long run.”
