Melissa Kirkpatrick Business Coach Helps Women Find Success in Life and Leadership

From teacher to golf course owner to business coach and speaker, Melissa Kirkpatrick helps clients go from stuck to unstoppable, drawing on her own personal and professional experiences.

When Kirkpatrick turned 30, she knew she loved teaching others but was unsure how to apply it. She decided to continue her studies and become a teacher. After a few years of teaching, her family got the opportunity to buy and own a golf course, and they jumped at the chance.

"Talk about teaching," Kirkpatrick laughs, “I thought my next step should be to learn golf!”

As the owner of two Cincinnati golf courses, Kirkpatrick continued to progress her skills in golf, and started to teach others how to play. While she enjoyed this work, the stress of running a family business got the best of her. “I developed an unhealthy relationship with food, alcohol and tobacco," Kirkpatrick recalls. "I didn’t recognize myself and I wasn’t living what I was teaching."

So, she got sober, sold the courses and launched what she realized is her true calling — a culmination of all her personal and professional experiences — a Business Coaching service.

Today, Kirkpatrick is a published author, motivational speaker, blogger, and coach. “What I knew to be true for me was my desire to be a healthy, vibrant, powerful woman without all the excuses and coverups,” Kirkpatrick says. “I realized my life is not just who I am being but who I am being for others. I’m now an experienced coach who has been on the training ground for many years and is ready to support you, mentor you, and be your accountability partner.”

Working one-to-one with clients, and in small groups when requested, Kirkpatrick says she has a set of questions she asks perspective clients to help gauge their needs. These questions include: “Do you feel stuck in some areas of your life? Are you ready to transform your current circumstances? Are you tired of numbing out the chaos around you?” These questions help her to pinpoint areas to focus on, guide them, and stay accountable through the process.

Kirkpatrick says she’s helped entrepreneurs launch businesses, professionals reinvent careers, business owners triple revenue over the course of a year. “I help them identify their goals, reduce the noise of anything not supporting those goals, and keep them accountable so they get there,” Kirkpatrick says. “Then once we do, we make new goals."

As a featured speaker for several local chambers, businesses, media outlets and, just recently, the Ohio Statehouse, Kirkpatrick also hosts free online workshops for the community. In addition, she offers a 21 Day Mindfulness Email Series to support you in forming new habits, and a free e-book on her website. “I discovered many self-sabotaging patterns that kept me jumping in and out of my place of joy and fulfillment. I knew it was time for change," Kirkpatrick says. "Having an accountability partner who's personally experienced it and is professionally trained to navigate it is like having a tour guide in a foreign country to help you find and enjoy all the big landmarks you want to see in your life."
