My Non-Stop Flight To Puerto Rico Only Cost $310, And That's With Additional Legroom

Admittedly, it hasn’t been too cold this winter. I hope I’m not jinxing anything by putting that statement out in the universe. I only bring it up because the winter doldrums (that cold, blustery pain you feel in your face & joints) are the cause of snowbird season. Those of you who are lucky to spend half the year somewhere warm be damned. Not really. We love you. … Well, I don’t know about “love.” But we are jealous of you.

I joined the ranks of the jealous-worthy crowd following a January trip to Puerto Rico. If I were to describe this vacation in one word, it’d be “amazing.” Yes, amazing.

For starters, the flight (via Allegiant Air) cost $310 round trip, and that included upgrading for increased legroom and a $50 charge to check a bag. I’ve paid more to fly inside the continental U.S.

But the most amazing part was living on the island for a week. From boogie boarding to sunbathing to cliff jumping to hiking in the clouds to downing Pina Coladas to history lessons and beyond, it was a week to remember. If you want the proof, scroll back to the top and view the photo gallery.

Note: Allegiant has weekly Saturday, non-stop flights to San Juan. Take a look for yourself. You won't regret it.
