The Tiny Ohio Island You Should Know About

Looking for both excitement and relaxation? Take the four-&-a-half-hour drive (plus a quick 20-minute ferry) to Ohio's premiere summertime party spot. Welcome to Put-in-Bay, where golf carts are the preferred transport.

Located on South Bass Island in northern Ohio (Ottawa County), Put-in-Bay has a split personality that ensures everyone has an unforgettable time. (Think Gatlinburg-meets-Key West. On steroids.)

While exploring the tiny, two-by-four-mile island with your "fun-mobile," make sure to fit in frequent stops for shopping or dining at one of the colorful outdoor cafes (live music galore!). Or you could always just cool your heels at a swim-up bar, tropical beverage in hand.

If your senses get overloaded from the intoxicating environment and ample people-watching, hop back on your cart and head to the other side of Put-in-Bay. Here you'll find serene and tranquil spots to watch the sailboats glide by on the glistening lake.

Home to some of the best perch and walleye fishing in the nation, Put-in-Bay also makes for a great place to bring the family. There's even a museum dedicated to preserving the history of this and other nearby islands (Middle Bass and Kelleys).

Fun and educational. Wild and mild. That's the Put-in-Bay way.
