There's A Village Of Awesome Treehouses Only Three Hours From Cincy

The Mohicans is an event center with a huge barn and luxury cabins about three hours from Cincinnati. Barn weddings (inspired by anything and everything on Pinterest) are very in right now, so as you can imagine, it’s a popular destination. But, without a doubt, the coolest thing about the venue is its amazing treehouses.

That’s right. Treehouses. Childhood dreams can now be realized. Yahoo!

They start around $250 per night, and there are 4 tree houses to choose from. They’re so good, they’ve actually been on TV.

Treehouse #1: Little Red

  • enter via 30-foot extension bridge
  • huge deck
  • lots of natural light
  • small kitchen
  • sleeps 2 guests
  • indoor restroom
  • outdoor shower

It was built in March 2013 by world-famous treehouse designer Pete Nelson for Animal Planet/Discovery Channel’s show Treehouse Masters.

Treehouse #2: Old Pine

  • a staircase/suspension bridge combo connects to it
  • private decks built around the trees
  • distinct 1800s decor and feel
  • cedar roof
  • indoor bathroom and shower
  • small kitchenette
  • 2 bedrooms (one is a loft)
  • an outdoor shower
  • huge windows for panoramic views

Old Pine was built using only reclaimed materials to showcase its 19th century look.

Treehouse #3: White Oak

  • A bridge connects it to the hillside that overlooks the Mohican Valley below
  • grapevine railings with a set of cedar doors at the entrance
  • a small kitchenette
  • 1 bathroom
  • 2 bedrooms (one is a loft)
  • an outdoor shower
  • heated floors
  • 3-sided wrap around porch

This was the first house built at The Mohicans by world-famous treehouse Pete Nelson (who also built Little Red above).

Treehouse #4: Moonlight

  • a gently-rocking bridge connected to the house
  • private decks constructed around the trees
  • 2 bedrooms (one being a loft)
  • a kitchen with a farmhouse sink and open shelving
  • a ceramic tile shower in a full indoor bathroom
  • a crystal chandelier
  • an outdoor shower
  • open concept design

This is considered the “most romantic” of the treehouses and was built with 100-year-old barn siding and hand-cut wooden beams.

I could go on and on about how awesome these little guys are, but don’t take my word for it. Go see for yourself in the photo gallery above.
