The Lebanon Mason & Monroe (LM&M) Railroad offers rides throughout Warren County while conductors detail local history and railroad operations to passengers. Departing from Downtown Lebanon, the vintage passenger cars are hauled by a diesel locomotive and offer family-friendly train experiences year-round. The ticket office is located at 16 E South Street in Lebanon, but you can also reserve seats and check out the latest seasonal rides and attractions online. The management team has been carefully monitoring the coronavirus outbreak, following extra safety precautions for staff and passengers as a result. Some of the rides typically offered by the LM&M Railroad include the educational Turtle Creek Valley Flyer ride around Warren County, a night out on the Wine & Cheese Train, a Rent the Caboose option for small private parties, and seasonally themed rides throughout the year. / Image: Catherine Viox // Published: 11.11.20
The North Pole Express—a holiday tradition over 30 years in the making—is the seasonal ride that plans to run from December 3-20 of 2020. The ride lasts an hour and a half and features magical moments such as an elf tour guide, a visit to Santa, and more in the heated, socially-distanced train. / Image: Catherine Viox // Published: 11.11.20
The historic railroad is operated by the Cincinnati Scenic Railway, a nonprofit organization. The trains are all “rescued” and restored to offer scenic and nostalgic train rides. / Image: Catherine Viox // Published: 11.11.20
It operates on 16 miles of track that runs between Lebanon, Mason, and Monroe. Most trips consist of the LM&M running 4.4 miles south from Lebanon Station to Hageman Junction. It runs over the famous right-of-way of the Cincinnati, Lebanon, & Northern (CL&N) Railroad—a passenger and freight line dating back to 1881 that connected Cincinnati to Dayton through Lebanon. Functioning mainly as a commuter route in its day, three trains would head south from Lebanon each morning to arrive at the CL&N’s Court Street Depot, which is where Hard Rock Casino sits today. / Image: Catherine Viox // Published: 11.11.20
