We could all use a getaway this winter. Luckily, Hermitage Farm just outside of Louisville has just the solution: you can stay the night at their historic Main House or the adjacent Smokehouse. The farm was established by Steve Wilson and Laura Lee Brown, who co-founded the highly regarded 21c Museum Hotels. Hermitage Farm is 87 miles southwest of Cincinnati. The Main House was built years prior to the American Civil War. Today, the home has been renovated to meet contemporary tastes without erasing its inherent historic charm. In their words, they updated the interior, "but not so much that the original owners couldn't find their way to the kitchen." Artwork from the owners' own collection fill the old house, giving it a modern edge. The house can accommodate up to 14 people a night. / Image courtesy of Hermitage Farm // Published: 1.5.21
The Smokehouse nearby can accommodate up to four guests. Also freshly renovated, overnighters receive a welcome gift upon arrival, a sunset champagne toast, complementary tickets to the ArtWalk (an outdoor installation with video projections and synced soundscape), and room service provided by the Barn8 Farm Kitchen & Bourbon Lounge. / Image courtesy of Hermitage Farm // Published: 1.5.21
Hermitage Farm is running a promotion through March 31 that discounts the price per night of both the Main House and the Smokehouse. The Main House normally rents for $2,000 a night, but is discounted to $1,300 a night during the promotion. The Smokehouse normally rents for $500 a night, but is discounted to $350 during the promotion. The only weekend in which the discount does not apply is Valentine's weekend (February 12-14). / Image courtesy of Hermitage Farm // Published: 1.5.21
