Covington’s Library Offers Free Guided Tours Of The City’s Historic Pike Street

WHO:
A tour guide from the Kenton County Library in Covington and folks interested in Covington's history.

WHAT:
The library provides a weekly guided walking tour of historic Pike Street. The tour meets in the Local History and Genealogy Department (on the second floor), and begins by heading out to the corner of Scott Blvd and Pike Street. Along the way, the guide stops to talk about the history of several points of interest, including former breweries, jewelers, theaters, and more.

Background information is given on each place as well as the people associated them. Old photos accompany the guide's narrative. The tour heads up Pike Street until reaching Russell Street, then heads back toward the library. The total walk is a mile loop and lasts about an hour.

Every Wednesday at 10 AM until September 27th, with one additional Saturday morning tour on September 23rd.
