The Holiday Auto Theatre (1816 Old Oxford Road, Hamilton, OH 45013) opened in 1948 as the Hamilton Outdoor Theatre, before changing its name just a few years later. Holiday Auto Theatre is the last remaining drive-in located in Butler County and is just a quick 45 minutes north of Cincinnati proper. One of just a few drive-ins open spring, summer and fall, Holiday is showing movies seven days a week through August when they’ll scale back as kids start school up again. Holiday Auto Theatre’s capacity is more than 550 cars and is known to play Hollywood’s newest films on the weekends. Tickets are $9.25 for adults and $5.50 for the kids while $5 (per car) gets movie-goers a food permit that allows you to bring in outside food and access discounts on concessions. People will travel from all over just to view the vintage "Entrance" sign, which is as old as the drive-in itself. / Image: Allison McAdams // Published: 7.9.20

Just two hours west of Cincy, Tibbs Drive-In (480 S Tibbs Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46241) is the last remaining drive-in theater in Indianapolis, a city that was once home to 18 of its kind. A late joiner to the drive-in scene, Tibbs opened with just one screen back in 1967 before adding two more just five years later. Today, Tibbs has four screens to choose from and a capacity of nearly 1,600 cars. Tickets cost $11 for adults and $6 for kids and can be purchased ahead of time or in person. / Image: Visit Indy // Published: 7.9.20
Tibbs shows doubleheaders five nights a week with the first flick coming on at dusk. They price their movies two for the price of one so you can pick a screen and stay for the long haul. Tibbs has a full concession stand with options ranging from Hoosier Pork Tenderloins or hot dogs and hamburgers to pizzas, chicken fingers and funnel fries. Be sure to check the website (TibbsDriveInTheatre.com) for what’s set to air, and keep your eyes out for concerts and comedy shows sprinkled in throughout the summer. / Image: Visit Indy // Published: 7.9.20

The Hollywood Drive-In Theater (1538 Cedar Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45224) at College Hill opened this spring as a makeshift drive-in on the back side of the old Hollywood Theater, which closed in 1994. The theater plans to show movies Thursday through Sunday nights all the way through Labor Day Weekend. Movies tip off at 9 PM and tickets cost just $20 per car and can be purchased in advance. / Image: Catherine Viox // Published: 7.9.20
The idea for the drive-in came thanks to College Hill Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation (CHCURC) and their mission to revitalize the business district along Hamilton Avenue. The hope was that this initiative would drive people to the area to support local businesses and perhaps grab dinner before the show. Viewers also have the option to order food from an area restaurant and have it delivered directly to your car. / Image: Catherine Viox // Published: 7.9.20

Located between Evansville and Louisville, Holiday Drive-In is about three hours from Cincy so grab the family and prepare for a road trip. Holiday Drive-In is old school so they’re a cash-only establishment and tickets run $10 for adults and $5 for kids. In tune with the old school vibes, Holiday Drive-In is on the short list of drive-ins that let you bring your own cooler. However, if you’re still craving that movie theater popcorn, they also have a full concession stand and are ready to serve. / Image: SantaClausInd.org // Published: 7.9.20
