The Big Fake Wedding Will Show How Local Vendors Enhance Your Big Day

Wedding planning can be stressful. Couples are often pulled in all different directions when it comes to deciding on a location, a cake, a DJ...the list continues.

Wouldn’t it be nice if planning the wedding was just as fun as the big day itself? Of course it would. So when you learn the Big Fake Wedding event is coming to Cincinnati this Thursday, February 21, you'll be delighted to know having fun while planning is a reality.

This unique event is described as “a bridal show alternative complete with an emotional vow renewal ceremony, light bites, and a dance-party reception." Long story short, the event basically gives couples a chance to experience wedding vendors in action.

Guests are encouraged to bring their wedding parties, their dancing shoes, and maybe a few tissues. “Brides and Grooms really love the laid back and personable atmosphere that allows them to get to know some of the best vendors in the city and the fact that a real couple is renewing their vows,” says CEO Jennifer Ammons. “It truly brings an emotional aspect to the stress of planning a wedding. Vendors love their access to collaborate and establish relationships with new businesses as well as be creative!”

The Big Fake Wedding will take place at The Transept in Over-the-Rhine. Each "wedding" is inspired by a theme, and Cincinnati’s theme is inspired by the romantic story of Pride and Prejudice.

“The vendors in Cincy have been so creative and totally nailed the inspiration board," says Ammons.

Ammons said the vendors of Cincinnati have truly come together to create something special for attendees. “We've heard a lot of great things about the vibes and collaborations that are already happening in the city,” she says. “It’s a perfect breeding ground to bring vendors together to network and create beautiful things to inspire our brides and grooms.”

Some of the vendors include Happy Chicks Bakery, 21c Museum Hotel, Cincinnati Event Rentals, Queen City Vignette, The Knot, Southern Bride, 100 Layer Cake, Cake and Lace and many more.

Tickets are only $25 and include light bites, a signature drink, and a swag bag.
