Whether it’s telling him about the toys we want for Christmas, or maybe just a picture of us crying in his lap (it happens), many of us have childhood memories of meeting Santa. It’s an inextricable part of the holidays for many people.
Have you ever met Santa at his house, though? You and your children have the chance to meet him and Mrs. Claus at Santa’s House on the Levee, which not only combines the memorable experience of going to Santa’s house, but also uses some special technology to make Santa even more all-knowing.
Located inside Newport on the Levee, Santa's House is filled with Christmas cheer, presents, and toys from years past. Here's how it works: Parents purchase an RFID tag for each of their children, and from that tag Santa will learn your child’s gift wishes, whether they’re on the naughty or nice list, and where they’ll be on Christmas morning. One of Santa’s elves will take photos of your children with Santa, which are then printed on the spot, and Santa will give your child a gift. Depending on the packages (which range from $35 to 55), you’ll also get digital copies of the photos emailed to you.
Santa will be at his house from now until December 24th, so there’s still time to get in your wishes before Christmas Day. You can see Santa’s schedule here.
