This Is The Circus' Last Year In Cincinnati, So Don't Miss Out

There are very few things in Cincinnati older than baseball. (Ok, there are many things in Cincinnati older than baseball, but bear with me.)

One of them is the Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey Circus. (Tickets!) It goes back 146 years, one year more than the Cincinnati Red Stockings. And though the circus has always been surrounded by kerfuffle, for five generations it has also been a place for friends and family to watch a rousing spectacle of acrobats, clowns, performers, and (yes) animals.

But here’s the thing... It’s gone after this year. So even if you have scruples, the point is moot. It’s over. This is the last one, ever. And if only for that reason, you can’t argue the Circus XTREME isn’t a compelling event.

After all, we aren’t talking some a flash-in-the-pan thing here. We’re talking about something that’s older than the Cincinnati Reds! Your parents and grandparents (and great grandparents!) probably went to the circus when they were young. It's only right we see that tradition through to the end.

And what an end it'll be:

The Ringmaster

The circus's last ringmaster also happens to be its first female one. Yep, Kristen Michelle Wilson has the distinction of being the first female ringmaster in the 146-year history of The Greatest Show On Earth. Her raw and energetic talent will send the circus out on a high note.

That would be the crowd-favorite catchphrase of Taba Maluenda, who has a remarkable ability to communicate and bond with his animal partners. In the final circus performance in Cincinnati, Maluenda will be taking his act to a new level by adding unique tricks like having his tigers leap over him as he holds a handstand!

No, we aren’t talking about that 1990 Reds squad. We’re talking about the Danguir Troupe scaling the heights and crossing a perilous divide on wire no wider than a human thumb!

Freestyle Sports

The finale of the newest (and last) Ringing Bros. production will be a freestyle sports display with BMX bikers, slack line gymnastic masters, and parkour acrobats. Also included is the Art On Trampoline troupe, comprising champion athletes hailing from universities throughout Ukraine.
