Queen City Alchemy Has Herbal Remedies For Even The Most Sensitive Of Skin

"Astronaut."
"Princess."
"Firefighter."
"Teacher."

These are answers you'd expect from kiddos when asked “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Wanna know what isn’t a common answer? Herbalist. But even as a child, Emily Little knew this is what she wanted to do, and that led her to create her own business: Queen City Alchemy.

A BLOOMING BUSINESS

Her great-grandmother was a bonafide soap maker, and Emily grew up with cabinets full of tinctures, salves, and herbal remedies. She recalls creating “potions” out of the passion flowers and roses that grew along the fence of her home. But how does one go from wildflower play to a big kid business?

By age 23, she was sick of the lack of natural skincare products so she went back to her roots (literally). She pulled out her family’s old recipes and started creating.

SOAPS, SERUMS, AND SALVES -- OH MY!

Queen City Alchemy sells soaps, serums, balms, botanicals, lotions, and more using only safe, non-toxic, and cruelty-free ingredients. Their ethos (much like their ingredient list) is simple: we are a company with a conscious. They don’t believe that taking great care of your skin should mean sacrificing your own health (or the wellbeing of animals). And with combinations like orange and neroli or tea tree and lavender, their scents will leave you smitten.

GETTING YOUR HANDS (UN)DIRTY

You can find Emily's products at retailers throughout Cincy (and a few sprinkled across the country). Most notably, Emily manufactures from a workshop inside Vitae Viride in Fort Thomas where the products are sold alongside other local goods. Prefer to do your shopping from the comfort of your couch? Great news! You can shop all the products online, too.

If I’m being honest, throwing a little lavender in something will make me love it. But these bad boys are born & blended right here in Cincinnati and are also good for your skin. That’s a trio I just can’t resist.
