Peaches Bully Rescue is a 501(c)3 foster-based organization based in West Chester that aids bulldogs in need. They provide a safe haven for bully breeds including, but not limited to, English, French, and American bulldogs; American Staffordshire terriers; mastiffs; boxers; pugs; and Boston terriers. The following pups are either being reviewed or accepting applications for adoption at the time of this writing, and represent just a few of the 300+ dogs PBR has helped rescue. / Image: Catherine Viox // Published: 2.9.21
Jack was stood up at his adoption and became an internet sensation very quickly due to his cuteness. He’s a nine-month-old American bulldog, weighing around 30lbs. He has spina bifida and is completely incontinent due to this, requiring diapers full-time. This is a permanent condition. Although he can’t go for long walks, he is still mobile and able to take a few steps. Despite all of this seemingly bad news, Jack is active, playful, and cute as can be. Adoption applications are under review for him. / Image: Catherine Viox // Published: 2.9.21
The dogs are rescued from puppy mills, breeding operations, shelters, and owners who can’t care for them for a variety of reasons. The pups typically require extensive medical treatment, training, rehab, and more. Fostering the dogs is on a volunteer-basis, and the non-profit itself runs on donations. / Image: Catherine Viox // Published: 2.9.21
Hope came from a breeding operation where she was a mom who stopped producing puppies. The three-year-old is a little timid, but working on coming out of her shell. She weighs 50lbs and needs a patient home that won’t mind helping with potty training. Adoption applications are currently being reviewed for her. / Image: Catherine Viox // Published: 2.9.21
Adoption applications can be found online and are followed with home visits, reference checks, and more. The adoption fees range from $250-$550 depending on the breed and age. This includes rabies & distemper shot, heart worm and fecal testing, microchip with registration, and spay/neuter procedures. / Image: Catherine Viox // Published: 2.9.21
Merlot is eight months old and adjusting to her foster life. She was surrendered due to medical needs. Her heart murmur doesn’t slow her down, though, as she is making progress on leash walking. She’ll also need some work on potty training, but is doing well around other dogs. Adoption applications are now being accepted for her. / Image: Catherine Viox // Published: 2.9.21
<p>If adoption or fostering aren’t avenues you’re interested in, you can still lend a hand by applying to be part of the “Peaches Pit Crew”.
