Not that you need reminding (because you’re a good person and all), but Mother’s Day is coming up. May 14, to be exact. And what better way to spend it than at a noisy, overcrowded restaurant?
Wait, let’s try that again.
…and what better way to spend it than at home, where you can stuff yourself with your own poorly made pancakes, runny eggs, and soggy bacon, then leave the cleanup for someone else?
Hmm. That doesn’t sound right either.
…and what better way to spend it than at the Kolping Center, where you’ll be treated to a delicious buffet courtesy of the folks at Cincinnati Catering?
There it is.

Ordinarily I’m loathe to offer a wall of text for fear you, dear reader, will get bored. But there’s nothing boring about these offerings: chef-carved ham and turkey, bacon strips, sausage links, quiche (loraine, spinach, and swiss), chef-prepared Belgian waffles with toppings, scrambled and western-style eggs, garlic and herb-roasted redskin potatoes, breakfast potato casserole, biscuits and gravy, a vegetable medley, fresh-cut fruit, a salad of mixed greens, assorted desserts and pastries, coffee, tea, orange juice, soft drinks, and a cash bar.
I tell you what, modern gastronomy is very cool, but it’s got nothin’ on bacon strips and Belgian waffles. Just goes to show how some things can’t be improved.
THE BEST PART
I’m talking about the camera and printer that will be provided, so you can get a pic of the fam, frame it, and hang it on your wall. Then whenever you pass it, you’ll be reminded of that time you had delicious bacon and waffles, and everything was right with the world.
Uh, why not try that one more time.
…then whenever you pass it, you’ll be reminded of that special morning you and your family spent thanking your mom for being the best mom in the universe.
