The Wizards Behind Hocus Focus Are Redefining The Magic Of Photo Booths

Photo booths are a fun way to add some magic to your event, but Hocus Focus Photo Booths have something bigger in mind.

These aren’t your grandparents’ photo booths. Hocus Focus has taken traditional photo booths and spun them into rustic and vintage backdrops to take weddings and parties up a notch.

Married couple Jeff and Lori Lewis have been running Hocus Focus for nearly six years. They started the business after going to a wedding and seeing how popular the photo booth was.

“Jeff had always wanted to own his own business, and I think he said, ‘I think we can do this; let’s do it.’ So we just started researching it, and Jeff built our booths,” Lori explained.

The couple started with standard photo booths. They also have a miniature version of the standard booth for kids' events and two rustic-themed booths. But in the years since starting Hocus Focus, competition from other photo booth rentals was popping up, and Lori and Jeff decided they had to do something different...

...Enter The Julep Camper.

Lori and Jeff bought the old hunting camper and completely redesigned it. Jeff built the photo booth, housed inside an original '50s Motorola TV set, and the benches and shelves. Lori, keeping with the era of the camper and her love for vintage, decked it out in white, aqua, and chic vintage decor.

And after snapping your picture, the booth will print your photo strips into an old mailbox on the outside of the camper. It even comes with its own generator, so you don't need to hook it up to anything — perfect for outdoor weddings and parties. And Lori will even decorate the outside of the camper custom to your event and design a logo to go at the bottom of your photos.

In fact, the Julep is so popular, Lori and Jeff are adding another camper to their inventory. Lori says the pink '66 Shasta should be ready for next wedding season.

You can also do add-ons to any of the photo booths. Hocus Focus has options to include props, a scrapbook, and a social media station where you can upload your photos to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

"It’s entertaining in itself to go in the booth," Jeff said. "They go in; they have a lot of fun trying to position themselves...I think it’s as much fun to do as to get the picture."
