Have A "Lurk" At Some Spooky-Chic Halloween Decor Ideas From This Cincy Business

Forget Christmas and Chanukah, Halloween may just be the most wonderful time of the year. For some, the holiday — filled with candy, costumes, and crisp fall air — is less of an occasion and more of a lifestyle; something to look forward to 364 days a year.

The folks at Grandin Road are definitely those people. Each fall, the design savvy, Cincinnati-based home goods company makes spooky chic with a range of decorations and design elements that you'll want to display well into Thanksgiving.

“Celebrating is our forte,” says Kate Beebe, Grandin’s public relations manager. “Each year, our beloved Halloween Haven experience brings forth a witch’s brew of innovative products, videos, and hundreds of styling tips and tricks for our fans.”

Count us among them, as once Grandin’s 2017 lookbook landed in our inboxes, it became the rare email we opened immediately. It may have been August, but Grandin’s stylishly polished product shots had us dreaming of candy corn artfully peppered around gold-trimmed stemless wine glasses emblazoned with a skull and crossbones for our inevitably forthcoming Halloween party.

When done wrong, Halloween’s traditional colors of black and orange can look tacky, but under Grandin Road's design direction, the holiday is at once elegantly modern and spookily fun.

Some of Grandin's offerings include:

  • faux pumpkins decorated in the color scheme with stripes and polka dots (starting at $34)
  • creepy, zombie-like hands that hold a metal-and-glass lantern light ($49)
  • a wreath of gothic gray, black, and red roses, blooms, and tendrils with the occasional skull thrown in ($129)
