Sage+Garden is a plant and sustainable goods store that carries ethically sourced items that are not only eco-conscious, but are curated from women or POC-owned companies. One can find everything from kitchen tools and toiletries to composting supplies and blooming houseplants in the Covington shop, with plenty of eco-friendly endeavors happening behind the scenes, too. ADDRESS: 12 W. Pike Street (41011) / Image: Catherine Viox // Published: 3.5.21
The shop’s founders came together over a shared drive to want to live “green” in an urban area. They started out by focusing on houseplants and environmentally safe home goods, which later adapted into avenues like creative recycling, upcycling, and water conservation efforts. They’ve set up rain barrels, composters, and chicken coops that have turned them into an urban farm that develops community-supported agriculture. / Image: Catherine Viox // Published: 3.5.21
The Sage+Garden team find that the real work behind being more sustainable is showing others how to do so by giving them the tools and guidance required to make greener changes. They’re more than happy to assist with gardening suggestions or consultations on projects big and small. “We're building bridges from one sustainable household to the next, encouraging the sort of broader movement that encourages and nourishes us all,” they say on their website. / Image: Catherine Viox // Published: 3.5.21
Sage+Garden also partners with a group called Local Compost, who are dedicated to keeping the NKY/Greater Cincinnati area green through compost production and food waste recovery efforts that prevent food from ending up in landfills. / Image: Catherine Viox // Published: 3.5.21
You can also shop their collection of plants and products{&nbsp;}<a href="https://sageandgarden.com/" target="_blank" title="https://sageandgarden.com/">online</a>. / Image: Catherine Viox // Published: 3.5.21
All of their furniture is either vintage or recycled. / Image: Catherine Viox // Published: 3.5.21
