Looking for your next Greater Cincinnati neighborhood to fall in love with? Look no further than Bellevue. And what better moment to do so than now, with the community’s renowned Art in the Park coming up on Saturday, September 9.
For those who don’t know it, Bellevue is the thoroughly charming river city east of Newport. And with its electic array of restaurants, gift shops, art studios, and home decor stores, it only gets more charming by the day. Throw in a brewery, an ice-cream parlor, and the riverside Thomas J. Weithorn Memorial Beach Park, and Bellevue seems like the quintessential neighborhood.
Another case in point is Art in the Park. It’s an event that sees Bellevue at its best. And it’s an absolutely can’t-miss event.
What: An art festival celebrating local craftspeople and artisans
When: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2017
Where: Thomas J. Weithorn Memorial Beach Park in Bellevue, Kentucky
To say Art in the Park is just about art would be a disservice to the food and drinks. And there will be ample food and drinks, thanks to Darkness Brewing, lunch and dessert options from Fairfield Avenue eateries, and food trucks.
But lets not kid ourselves, the art takes center stage. That means unforgettable, talented craftspersons and artisans selling their work, live music, and hands-on art activities for kids. And for the artists, it also means cash prizes. Four independent judges will award $1,300 for outstanding work in the categories of Fine Art and Fine Craft. Attendees will likewise vote for the People’s Choice Award.
Another aspect of the festival is the silent auction made possible through the generosity of many of the Art in the Park exhibitors. Every dollar the auction raises will directly benefit the art programs of the three Bellevue Schools. The live auction is happening now at Bellevue’s Frame and Hang Studio Gallery, then moves to the Beach Park on the day of the event, so you'll be able to bid there as well.
See you there peeps!
