A lot of the conversations my female friends have center around those stylish little accents that set them apart. Sure, 90% of their outfits might be Madewell or J.Crew or Lululemon, but then they have a clutch from a boutique downtown, or a pair of earrings from a jeweler in Hyde Park, or a hat from a one-off place north of the city.
"Oh my gosh, I love that! Where did you get it?"
"Thanks! There's this great little store I found the other day, you should check it out."
"Yeah, I definitely will!"
But she probably won't. Why? Maybe she'll forget about it. Maybe it's out of the way. Maybe she'll settle for something not nearly as cool on Amazon. (C'mon girl.)
GEE, wouldn't it be nice if there were an event where all these wonderful little shops could gather and display the best they have to offer?
Say hello to the CINsational Shopping Show.
A UNIQUE SHOPPING EXPERIENCE
The CINsational Shopping Show is a two-day shopping event showcasing exciting brands that offer unique items to sample and purchase. We're talking Greater Cincinnati's best one-of-a-kind shops, as well as distinctive products from across the country. The show's presenting sponsor is TriHealth.
There will be dozens of boutiques selling a range of items: jewelry, handbags, candles, soaps, bath and beauty products, clothing, hats, makeup, embroidery, cards and stationary, furniture, and artwork. Plus, much more.
"Our mission is to celebrate women by providing a unique shopping experience while giving back to the community," says event organizer Mindy Bailey. "We want to enhance women's lives by introducing them to new products from Greater Cincinnati and around the country."
When Bailey says the event is giving back to the community, she means it. In fact, that's a central purpose of the event. A portion of ticket sales goes to Spirit of Cincinnatus, an outstanding charity that connects dozens of nonprofits in the area.
BUT WILL IT BE FUN?
I dunno... does a Bud Light Rita Cabana sound fun? I'm gonna go with yes.
Also, Sephora will be doing free mini makeovers, andCincy Style Bar will be offering free quick hair stylings.
Oh, and if you like cute animals (who doesn't?), the SPCA will be there with their mobile adoption unit, too.
WHAT ELSE IS THERE?
The Heel Dash. (I love this idea.) Guests will have an opportunity to dash 15 meters at the show in their own high heels (minimum 3" heels, no wedges) for a chance to win a year's worth of shoes from The Tri-County Mall.
Local 12 anchor Rob Braun will be emceeing the event, and he'll be giving away premium prizes every hour. On top of that, each day there will be four premium giveaways featuring two round-trip plain tickets to New York City or Charlotte on Ultimate Air, a $500 gift card to Sephora, $500 Sephora gift bag, and a $500 gift card to Tri-County Mall. And on Sunday, James Free Jewelers will be giving away a David Yurman topaz pendant necklace valued at $1,000.
