“What do you wanna do, honey?”
Few things bedevil the modern couple so much as those six words. Hours can be spent figuring out the answer. And until you have one, you’ll remain in date-night limbo, a place of high tensions and little sense where life becomes increasingly well described by the “nothing really matters” verse of Bohemian Rhapsody.
Some couples never make it out at all.
Well, as the kids used to say, there’s an app for that: DateCrawl. And we’re highlighting it for two reasons:
- It promises to solve your date-night difficulties
- Because it’s made by a Cincinnati startup
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Get a sense of what a DateCrawl date might look like by perusing the gallery. You might also download the app, which Apple users can do in the App Store and which Android users will soon be able to do too.
So, you open the app and define four criteria: proximity, price, activity level, and attire. Then you’re delivered date ideas crowdsourced from other users and verified by the DateCrawl team.
The app helps you navigate your date, provides tips from other users about what to do at certain locations, and asks that you rate the date when you’re finished so others can learn from your experience.
I have to say, it’s pretty cool right now. Plus, because it’s crowdsourced, it’ll only get better with use. So next time you’re in date-night limbo, give it a try. It might save you from an argument or two. And hey, even if that's the only thing it does, it’ll have been worth the download.
