After nearly 100 days of closure, the Cincinnati Art Museum reopened its doors with a ceremony that took place along its new staircase on the morning of Friday, June 20th. The Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra played music at various levels of the staircase as the general public made their way up the 164 steps to the Art Museum. The museum can be toured by the public with a reservation, which can be made on their website: CincinnatiArtMuseum.com. / Image: Catherine Viox // Published: 6.21.20
The Art Climb is the Cincinnati Art Museum's new "red carpet" of sorts. 164 tastefully arranged steps now connect the intersection with the Art Museum's parking lot nine stories above. Known as the Art Climb, the first phase of the staircase formally opened in early May and features picnic tables, benches, and several sections with attractive views of the land below. Emersion Design and Human Nature are responsible for the architecture and landscaping. Turner Construction built the staircase. Future phases will include the addition of sculptures to the land surrounding the Art Climb. / Image: Catherine Viox // Published: 6.21.20
