In September 2018, Eli Kadiu had an opportunity to buy a house on Ida Street with amazing views. He closed in three weeks, skipped a trip to Albania to visit family, and less than a year later, he's offered this stunner to the market.
1227 Ida Street reflects Kadiu’s European taste. Instead of hiring a designer, he asked his brother to come over from Albania for a month, and together they refined and coordinated the finishes, from the sparkling chandeliers to the 2.5-inch quartz countertops. Smart home features let you adjust almost everything from your phone, and Italian porcelain flooring covers the laundry room. This home is the epitome of European style with Cincinnati views.
The house, which dates to 1880, has been completely redone: the foundation, which houses the lower level apartment, is original, as is the interior railing leading to the lower level. Everything else was redone in top-of-the-line finishes.
As you enter 1227 Ida Street, you walk into a gorgeous living area connected to the eat-in kitchen. There’s room for a dining room table for optimal entertaining, as well as a gas fireplace, quartz countertops with cafe appliances, and a folding door that walks out onto a balcony.
Head upstairs, and you’ll find a guest bedroom with its own bathroom and walk-in closet (lit by LEDs), and a luxe laundry room. The master suite has a see-through fireplace and ensuite bath, including dual sinks, heated floors, a towel warmer, Bluetooth speakers, and a TV (so you can watch your favorite shows or listen to your favorite podcast while you soak). Head up to the third floor, and you’ll find a third bedroom (again with its own bathroom) and the family room, which walks out to an outdoor kitchen with wet bar, grill, and refrigerator.
The lower level is its own apartment, with a small kitchen, living/sleeping area, sitting area, and its own private entrance with a small balcony. This can be used as a mother-in-law suite, a guest room for visiting kids, or it could also be an income-generating office. It’s also on its own electric panel and has its own hot water heater.
The whole building is super-secure, with Nest video doorbells at both the main door and apartment door, and a Swann security system with four cameras. It’s maybe the smartest house we’ve seen; the heated floors, thermostat, locks, cameras, fireplaces, sound system, and lighting are all controlled via apps. The home also boasts custom speakers with a Sonos amplifier in five different zones so your music can follow you throughout the house.
Kadiu has applied for a tax abatement, and considering the view, the opportunity for income, and the one-car garage, this one won’t last long. Contact Amy Richard at Comey and Shepherd for a showing.
