When big gyms don't suit your personal workout, go to QFit. Located on the main drag of Bellevue, QFit is a private, boutique training studio that offers one-on-one instruction designed for the individual. Owner Melissa Quarles runs the studio with two other personal trainers, and together they tailor every workout to their client. Melissa opened QFit in September 2017. She'd worked for years in big chain gyms to build her clientele before spearheading her own endeavor. She found the space while enjoying the avenue and determined it would be a perfect place to start her studio. / Image: Phil Armstrong, Cincinnati Refined // Published: 9.1.20

She's worked with people of all ages who need different things in their workouts, though she says she specializes with women in their 30s and 40s who are trying to make a change in their life. Melissa shows them how strong they actually are and gives them the confidence they need to achieve their fitness and wellness goals. / Image: Phil Armstrong, Cincinnati Refined // Published: 9.1.20
QFit is ideal for tailored personal workouts, but it also does small partnered workouts as well. Small groups of friends who like to workout together can do so at the studio with a single personal instructor. / Image: Phil Armstrong, Cincinnati Refined // Published: 9.1.20
Melissa incorporates overall wellness and nutrition into the client's workout to help them build healthy habits outside of the studio. / Image: Phil Armstrong, Cincinnati Refined // Published: 9.1.20

“I’ve learned that I want to make it more full wellness versus just a gym," owner Melissa Quarles says. "My goal eventually is to have more seminars, get some chiropractors in here, stuff like that." / Image: Phil Armstrong, Cincinnati Refined // Published: 9.1.20
For her, the close-knit Bellevue community is something she particularly loves about her location. The local businesses on the avenue work together to succeed as one, which she’s never experienced before in any other neighborhood. / Image: Phil Armstrong, Cincinnati Refined // Published: 9.1.20
