Athleta’s “Race for the Planet” Run Club challenged its nationwide community to run the total circumference of the earth—24,901 miles. Every Wednesday in August, the Cincinnati team gathered for a group 5K. And for every mile run, walked, or biked, Athleta donated $1 to The Nature Conservancy. The Rookwood Commons location had a goal of contributing 1,000 miles to the cause, but ended up logging 2,107 miles. The club was so successful, that Athleta Rookwood plans to continue the weekly community run for like-minded, charity-focused people. They will continue to meet every Wednesday for the community run. Though the store will no longer donate $1 per mile, the Charity Miles app will allow you to donate to the cause that matters to you with every mile you move, earning money from their corporate sponsors. / Image courtesy of Athleta Rookwood // Published: 9.16.19
