Top 10 Spots To Meet For Business Drinks

It's been said that 90% of business deals take place over a round of golf, but being bigger fans of drinks & eats than four irons & sand traps we beg to differ.

We happen to think that more moving, shaking, and getting things done happens over a good glass of wine, a stout pint of beer, and a happy hour or two. And if you've been out in our fair city recently, then you're liable to agree.

If you haven't, here's a look at some of the best places in the city to hop into the networking pool (and have a great time while you're at it). And who knows visit one of these spots and you just might make that sweet connect that takes you to a whole new place.

Cincy's Top 10 Spots
To Get Your Boozy Network On

Dutch's Bar and Bottle Shop
This popular bar in East Hyde Park has a huge wine list and an effortlessly cool ambiance to die for. It's also famed for its back patio and fire pit during summer nights and crisp fall evenings. Stop here for a drink and connect with a mix of the city's old guard and young up-and-comers. Everyone can find something to like at Dutch's.

Unwind Wine Bar
Located just off Hyde Park Square, Unwind Wine Bar is one of those spots that attracts an eclectic crowd -- anybody and everybody who's game to sample from a broad, curated wine list. Because, hey, where there are small plates and large wine glasses, you'll usually find great company.

Liberty's Bar and Bottle
Rotating taps and a focus on craft beers is the law of the land at Liberty's, making this the perfect place to grab a drink (and do a little business) during a happy hour. It's also a little ways off OTR's beaten path, making it a prime location for those times when you want to have a long conversation/ sipping session.

Sleepy Bee Cafe
The brunch crowd of Greater Cincinnati has taken to Sleepy Bee Café in a big, big, big way -- so much so that this local-whenever-possible eatery just opened a second location in Blue Ash. Stop there (or at the original spot in Oakley) for some delightful breakfast & lunch dishes. And with the Blue Ash locale packing a liquor license, it's the perfect backdrop for your next early-morning meeting (a.k.a. mimosas) or weekend chat session (a.k.a. Bloody Mary).

Tapas and small plates round out the robust menu at Mita's, one of Cincinnati's newest restaurants (launched by chef Jose Salazar). Wherever the food is made for sharing, conversation usually ensues. And at a spot with the pedigree of Mita's, you're bound to find that networking comes easy and quickly.

Taft's Alehouse
This OTR powerhouse pays homage to Cincinnati's historic connection with beer and gives it a modern twist. This is certainly a place to be seen, my friends, and the networking (/ friend-making) opportunities are nonstop. Cut loose, share a beer with a business or social acquaintance, and grow that relationship.

Old Kentucky Bourbon Bar
We love OKBB for plenty of reasons, all of which have to do with bourbon and the its magical way of getting people to simply open up and relax. Show off your bourbon knowledge (or lack thereof -- don't worry, no judgment from these folks!) at this MainStrasse mainstay the next time you're tasked with planning happy hour.

The Wise Owl Wine Bar
The Wise Owl Wine Bar is an upscale watering hole in West Chester. Head here the next time you find yourself headed for a meet-up in the burbs. The menu's tapas-style offerings complement the large wine list, making this a great location for any after-5pm business deals you need to discuss over a light meal.

Calle Cantina
It might not have a large menu, but you know what Calle Cantina in Mt. Adams doesn't need it. Tacos, guacamole, chips, and salsa are some of the best conversion starters in the game.

Tla Bar + Kitchen
Since opening earlier this year, this Wyoming, Ohio gastro-destination has become the "see and be seen" spot of the North/Westside. Started by longtime friends, the restaurant offers super-tasty craft cocktails and even better entrees. The next time you want to make an impression in the Northern Hills of the city, a stop by Tla will do the trick.
