Terrace Park doesn’t have any restaurants. Let’s all let out a collective gasp in shock. Okay, glad we got that out of our system.
Actually, correction It didn’t have any restaurants. Now, it has one. A really good one, in fact. Husband & wife duo Brett & Aaron Tritsch officially opened The Birch this past April.
The restaurant has the feel of Dutch’s — but Dutch’s in Napa Valley, California. And I don’t know about you, but that is quite appealing. Whether you want to come in for a light bite or just grab a bottle of wine from the retail shop on your way to a house party, The Birch makes for an easy & enjoyable stop.
Housed in a former flower shop, the space had to be completely refitted for the restaurant. The back patio is plenty big and even includes bocce ball. The indoor space seats about 38 people (that’s accounting for the bar stools). And there’s a 14-person private dining room as well.
Now, we can’t forget about the food. What makes the food so good is that is doesn’t try to overdo itself. It’s simple. It’s fresh. It’s just what it needs to be.
Warning: You might not know what to pick because everything sounds delicious. That really could happen. My belly points toward the mushroom & farm egg pizza or the BLT sandwich. Then again, everything (depending on the mood) has a way of piquing one’s interest.
As for Terrace Park residents, I’m pretty sure I can hear them munching & rejoicing all the way from Walnut Hills. We’re not sure how they survived so long; but alas, they don’t have to venture to Milford or Mariemont anymore when the urge to eat strikes. Heck, they can even bring their kids along.
