Pleasant Ridge Now Has A Heavenly Cheese Bar

They say in heaven, love comes first, and if that’s so, then Share: Cheesebar is basically heaven on Earth.

Okay, that might be a tad hyperbolic, but any cute dining spot focused on the glory that is cheese is pretty dang near heavenly.

Proprietor Emily Frank’s fondness for cheese is already well-known in the Greater Cincinnati community; she’s the genius behind the C’est Cheese food truck which delivers grilled cheese goodness. Share: Cheesebar opened in July of this year, and guys... It’s really great.

Located on Montgomery Road in Pleasant Ridge, Share: Cheesebar is tucked away just off the beaten path, and as you might expect, the menu is laser-focused on cheese. You can select from the Just Cheese or Cheese + Meat selections on the menu. The latter options come in four-, six-, or eight-piece combinations of cheese and meat, selected via “chef’s choice” and accompanied by Sixteen Bricks bread, olives, fig jam, mustard, and mixed nuts. A gorgeously creamy burrata is also on the menu.

Cheeses range from the ever-popular Triple Creme Brie to the espresso-rubbed Barely Buzzed and the smooth Garrotxa, with many others in between. In fact, the cheese options are re-upped every Tuesday, so every week offers a chance to find a new fave. The meats are equally fab — paper-thin Prosciutto Americano and fennel-inflected Finocchiona were delicious counterparts to the cheeses on the day we popped by.

If you’re feelin’ nervous about giving it a whirl, don’t worry. The chef creates a masterful array of flavor and taste in the combo.

In addition to dining in, you can take home your favorite cheese or meat from the stocked counter. There’s also an impressive array of jams, crackers, wrapped salamis, honey, chocolate bars and more to choose from, as well as a nicely-stocked beverage fridge. There’s a solid selection of beer, wine, and great flavors of Found seltzer water to drink in or take home.

Oh, and two last words for you: dessert cheese. If you’ve never had it, you need to. The chocolate chevre, cuddled in raspberry sauce and chocolate shavings and served with cranberry crisps was incomparable. It was better than ice cream, and few things are better than ice cream. Wrap up your visit to Share: Cheesebar on a sweet note with this one.
