For me, chicken is often the least enticing thing on a menu. Now don’t get me wrong, I love chicken. But it’s basic. It’s a protein I have at least once a week. If I’m venturing outside the house for food, I want to give something else a whirl. Ya know? That is the case in 99.9% of circumstances. The 0.1% is comprised of visits to Revolution Rotisserie.
The chicken joint that launched as a stand at Findlay Market in May of 2014 and then set down roots with a brick-and-mortar location across from Washington Park in March of 2015 has added another base of operations. On January 19, 2018, Nicholas Pesola (the man behind the revolution) opened a second Revolution Rotisserie in Pleasant Ridge. It’s located in the former Emanu spot at the corner of Montgomery Road and Losantiville Ave.
Architect Ron Novak from the Drawing Department handled the project, along with Hudepohl Construction for the buildout. “Our ambiance strikes a balance between urban and classic while incorporating revolutionary nods and subtle farmhouse accents in our decor,” explained Pesola. “In many ways, our interior design was inspired by what spontaneously came together in OTR—but with a little more longterm vision in mind. For example, we incorporated the red roof barn tin found in OTR for the front of the bar.”
Of course, the most important thing about this new location is the chicken. Because, let's be honest, that’s what we’re here for. Whether you want to eat it as a chita (their play on pita, but with chicken) or have it on a salad or go with the classic option—the rotisserie—you know what you’re getting when you come to Revolution. And what you’re getting is pretty dang good.
