Friendly atmosphere, friendly staff, and a friendly-to-all menu...
York Street Cafe might be one of the friendliest places I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. It’s no wonder their customers often choose to spend their birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions there. I, for one, can certainly understand why people keep coming back.
This cafe offers everything you could ever want in a dining experience. Their menu is fantastic: vegan and vegetarian friendly, all of their vegetables are locally sourced, and their dessert is made from scratch right in their kitchen. Chef Nathan Lyke, who previously worked at Jean-Robert’s Table, Vito’s and the former Virgil’s, has really taken the menu to a whole new level since his arrival.
The staff is charming and knowledgable and the decor is truly one-of-a-kind. Each table has something different under the glass (for instance, drawings of customers’ dogs on napkins) and the shelves are full of knick-knacks, pictures, and unique lamps. Visitors have even been spotted taking selfies in front of their famed Pez collection.
The Cafe also serves as a lounge with a gorgeous bar and huge dance floor on the second floor, and there's an art gallery on the third floor where private parties and banquets are held.
September will mark Terry and Betsy Cunningham's 20th anniversary of owning York Street Cafe, and they couldn’t be more excited to celebrate this milestone with you. They've planned events for the month, so keep your eyes peeled to their website for more information (and, ya know, check out those pics in the gallery above).
