There are restaurants that you take a special someone to for a special occasion. There are restaurants you take a special someone to on any given occasion. And then, there are restaurants you just don't take a special someone to, 'cause you wanna keep that special someone special. ... Ya feel me?
Now Padrino, located in Milford and known for its pizza, pasta, and hoagies, would fall into the second category, where you've been on enough dates that you're finally feeling comfortable to let the real you shine through. You choose the comfy jeans instead of the sexy jeans. And truth be told, that's when the good stuff happens. And that's Padrino. It's your everyday, comfy jeans, feel-right-at-home kinda place.
Padrino might not be the premier Italian restaurant in the greater Tri-state, but that's why we love it. It's a place you can head to any day of the week; it's a place you can count on. Order that Toscano pizza or fill up on a nice bowl of spaghetti & meatballs. Either way, you know what you're in for, and what you're in for is, in the words of Larry David, "pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good."
Also, wait. No, strike that. More importantly... Yes, more importantly, the beer selection is on point. I don't have an exact count on the number of local breweries featured, but it's a lot. One of which is Blank Slate. Then the clouds parted and the Lord spaketh. He said some really inspiring stuff. I don't remember the exact words because I was so in awe of those Blank Slate cans. You picking up what I'm putting down?
Layman's terms: Craft beer is awesome, especially Blank Slate. Padrino has an amazing selection. Go to Padrino.
Now that you've been convinced a dinner (or lunch, 'cause they are open for lunch, too) is in your future, who are you gonna take? Just remember, the best moments in life happen when you least expect them. They happen in the places that aren't known for being special and yet, that's precisely what makes them so.
Alright, enough of this sentimental mumbo jumbo. I just want a Fork In The Road. It's a beer by (you guessed it) Blank Slate.
