Milkman is a delicious pop-up inside of Revolution Rotisserie’s Pleasant Ridge location that serves ice cream, milkshakes & boozy shakes, and old-fashioned doughnuts. It opened in June 2020 as a way to give people something to look forward to during the pandemic. Owner Nick Pesola says that, as "hokey" as it sounds, "The primary driving force behind Milkman and making the decision to bring it to reality when we did was to give people hope, not only for the neighborhood and the general public, but also for all of my employees as well as myself.” ADDRESS: 6063 Montgomery Road (45213) / Image: Elizabeth A. The weekend-only operation is a nod to how Revolution got their start on weekends at Findlay Market. Doughnuts are available for carryout and dine-in on Saturday and Sunday from 9 AM until they’re sold out. Ice cream, shakes, and other dairy desserts are served on Friday from 11 AM to 10 PM, Saturday from 10:30 AM to 10 PM, and Sunday from 10:30 AM to 9 PM. Revolution’s dining room and patio offer socially distanced seating, and there are also a few benches situated outside the building on Losantiville Road for guests to sit and eat. The purpose of Milkman was and still is to be the highlight of your day. There's something very special and nostalgic about both doughnut shops and ice cream parlors [and] the Milkman experience draws inspiration from that powerful nostalgia. -Nick Pesola, owner / Image: Elizabeth A. Pesola credits the original menu and recipes to retired Revolution Rotisserie pastry chef Robert Passero, as well as current pastry chef Danielle Victor, who is always creating new flavors, perfecting the process, and making sure there's enough product to keep up with demand. Milkman features a mix of permanent and rotating ice cream and sorbet flavors that incorporate seasonal ingredients to keep things fresh. They’ve created over 20 flavors since opening. / Image: Elizabeth A. Lowry // Published: 10.6.20
