The Merry Mare is a stylish mobile bar that can be booked for weddings, private parties, corporate events, and more within the Cincinnati area and beyond. The female-owned enterprise is run by neighbors and friends Emma Jones, Melissa Gerth, and Tracy Tekulve. The idea came about two and a half years ago when Jones (who had recently moved to the Cincinnati area from England) noticed that, although there were food trucks aplenty, there weren’t many mobile bars. / Image: Elizabeth A. The packages are all-inclusive (minus the alcohol) and include the mobile bar for the pouring of drinks; four hours of bar service from a trained and licensed bar staff; alcohol purchase consultation; set decor for the trailer and bar menu; bar supplies; and set up, clean up, and travel within 50 miles. Beer, Wine, & Bubbles is the base package, but extras such as classic or signature cocktails and other options can be added on, as well. Visit their{ }website{ }to see their full services and to book the bar. / Image: Elizabeth A.
The team works with mixologists to create a menu of signature cocktails blended with fresh botanicals that rotate seasonally. "Part of The Merry Mare experience is to bring a sense of adventure and we encourage customers to have some fun with their choices, and even to consider crafting their own personal drink of distinction to mark the event," Jones says. / Image: Elizabeth A. As a converted horse trailer, the name “Merry Mare” is meant to convey a sense of warmth and memorable character. The small size of the bar allows it to operate both inside and out depending on the space. / Image: Elizabeth A. Lowry // Published: 11.21.20
"The three of us decided to bring together all the things we love...friends, family, cocktails!" Jones says. "Our vision was to bring a sophisticated, luxury mobile bar experience closer to home; a touch of class with exciting European influence, to join the cultural heart of our beautiful Cincinnati." / Image: Elizabeth A. They also collaborate with local suppliers to add props to the bar based on the theme of the event. "It’s all about the ambience, as all guests interact with the bar and it's often the centerpiece of the occasion," Jones says. The decorated surroundings of the bar also make for a perfect photo op for guests to capture memories of the event. / Image: Elizabeth A. Lowry // Published: 11.21.20
