Kory Quitter moved to Newport in 2018. After attending and dropping out of UC, he worked several construction-related jobs rehabbing houses before becoming burned out on his career path. After speaking to several small business owners around the area, he decided to pursue his own endeavor. When a retail space became available on 10th Street in Newport right near his home, he jumped on his chance to open his combination coffee and kombucha shop. / Image: Phil Armstrong, Cincinnati Refined // Published: 11.27.20
The shop is open relatively late to accommodate people who want a place to hang out that isn't a restaurant or bar. / Image: Phil Armstrong, Cincinnati Refined // Published: 11.27.20
Kory's shop is very community-focused. Not only is it a place where locals can come hang out, but 10 percent of all sales in the shop are given to Mentoring Plus—a Newport non-profit that helps disadvantaged youth and their families achieve their full potential and contribute meaningfully to the community. / Image: Phil Armstrong, Cincinnati Refined // Published: 11.27.20
