Quality coffee in your cup, great service, and a delightful atmosphere. This is the mission of Felix Coffee Co.
Owner and operator of the local roastery and pop-up, Logan Peele, wants people to have this kind of space in the city, and recounts an experience he had when living in Los Angeles, CA that was the impetus for wanting to create his own coffee company.
"I had recently been introduced to third wave coffee through a church I was going to at the time, and fell in love with it. Around this same time, my friends and I kept noticing that the balance in a coffee shop experience was off. Either we had incredible coffee and poor service, or poor coffee and great service. I was always thinking to myself, 'Why can't we have both?'"
Upon moving back home to Cincinnati, Logan realized that he wanted to integrate unique, flavorful roasts with friendly service in a relaxing atmosphere, and that's how Felix Coffee Co. was born. He began roasting coffee for his father's church, Sozo Loveland, and is now slinging his brews all around the Tri-state area.
Currently, the company only serves at pop-up events and is very recognizable to many OTR visitors from their recent residency at Queen City Radio. They exclusively serve cold brew and pour-over coffees utilizing their own curated roasts. Peele notes that the vision for the company's future is simple: creating a permanent space for Felix to live, and carrying on the quality coffee that they serve now. He says, "I want people to know we're here to stay—we love doing pop-ups, but really want to create a space people are comfortable in, excited to come back to, and want to be in as their 'third space.'"
