Dear Restaurant & Butchery occupies the space that was formerly Teller's in Hyde Park Square. Owned by principals Austin and Ashley Heidt and chef Brian Young, the first floor of the eatery features a butcher counter, coffee bar, soft serve counter, wall of wine, and charcuterie counter. There’s also a private dining room in what used to be a bank vault. ADDRESS: 2710 Erie Avenue (45208) / Image: Elizabeth A. Lowry // Published: 11.9.20
The space was designed by Michelle Pinales Designs to be colorful, airy, and fun as a way to move away from the stuffy dining rooms of the past. Guests will be welcomed with kindness and warmth by a team schooled in the art of hospitality. They’ll also be served elevated classics using the freshest seasonal ingredients. / Image: Elizabeth A. Since COVID-19 thwarted the staff's plans to open the restaurant in the spring of 2020, they pivoted to opening the butchery and market first over the summer as they could limit the number of customers coming into the space and offer a quick, grab-and-go experience while still maintaining a high level of service. Online orders for pickup or delivery can be placed on their{ }website, which also lists the latest hours for the restaurant and butchery. / Image: Elizabeth A. Dear's back patio is currently open on the weekends for a series of dinners simply called "al fresco." Dinners will feature a rotating, multi-course menu by executive chef Brian Young and sous chef Jack Halfin. Guests will be able to eat on the main floor as well as the mezzanine. The mezzanine will be a more formal, white tablecloth experience, but the same, seasonal menu will be available on both floors. Call ahead for reservations (513) 429-2605. / Image: Elizabeth A. "The butchery is all about service and selection. We’re sourcing products that you can’t find anywhere else in the state of Ohio. We love our space, we love our food and beverage programs, but we hope what truly sets us apart is our approach to hospitality and taking care of our guests," says Ashley says.
